Online Economics A Level course overview
Economics A Level and AS Level covers the following five areas
- Basic economic ideas and resource allocation
- The price system and the micro economy
- Government microeconomic intervention
- The macro economy
- Government macro intervention
AS Economics candidates answer multiple choice, data response and essay questions. This format is repeated at Economics A level where candidates will be tested on the additional syllabus content for A Level, but they also require a knowledge and understanding of the AS Level syllabus content.
Prior learning
Candidates beginning this course are not expected to have studied Economics previously. A qualification in Maths equivalent to IGCSE would be useful.
Progression
Economics A Level online provides a suitable foundation for the study of Economics or related courses in higher education. It may permit or assist progression directly to university courses in Economics or some other subjects. It is also suitable as part of a course of general education.
